We have shared our lives and home with Saint Bernards since 1986.  In our community, we are known as the people with the Saint Bernards.  Most every day we can be seen walking them.   There is something about a Saint that makes people smile, what a great attribute!

Our Saint Bernards have been extended family members.  They never had to prove their worth or importance to us.   The Saint Bernard breed has the ability to give unlimited devotion to their families.  They have been such a joy in our lives, and have brought us so much happiness.  They have all had show qualities, so they have turned a lot of heads and reaped us countless comments on their beauty and stature.

In 2007, we decided to get involved with showing our Saints in the AKC conformation shows.  We found out very quickly that great rewards come from the show ring and depressing disappointments as well.  Our first year gave us a 50/50 split with the highs and lows.  We now understand why so many people do not stay involved with showing their dogs.  It is an expensive endeavor, the competition is tough, and it can consume all your time.  We don't want to lose sight of our love for Saint Bernards and become caught up in trying to get the elusive winning ribbons.

We have been very fortunate to have finished our male Saint Bernard for his Conformation Championship in 2008.  He is a great looking smooth.  Our male was finished by one of the top veteran handlers of Saint Bernards.  We are very much aware of how difficult it is to finish a Saint Bernard as a Champion.  We have never taken for granted any points our dogs have won.  We have a young female that we started showing in 2008.  She did quite well in the beginning, but decided to stop showing her because of some unfortunate situations.  It has been disappointing for us.  The veteran handler who finished our male started to show her again in March 2010.  She went to twelve Saint Bernard Specialty Shows this year.  She did not win any points major or minor.  We gave it another shot but, it appears that it is just not in the cards for her to become a champion.  We do not show our other female.

We have never had a litter of puppies; even though through the years we have had seven females.  We feel it is very important that the breeding of Saint Bernards should be done in an educated and responsible manner.  It is not as simple as having a male and female Saint Bernard and letting nature take its course.  Temperament and sound bodies don't just happen.

BRANDYKEGS would like to thank you for visiting our site.  We hope to provide you with some useful information.
